THE SAFE CHOICE PROJECT
We study the health and well-being of females from early adulthood to menopause with a focus on conditions and exposures that are specific to the reproductive years, such as endometriosis and hormonal-contraception use. The Safe Choice project has collected three waves of survey data on 220,000 females to improve the research foundation for studying women's health. By triangulating survey and nationwide register data, we hope to improve knowledge on the impact of transitions in female hormones and to gain insights into sex differences in health. The Safe Choice project is a collaboration between researchers at Nordsjællands Hospital, the University of Copenhagen, and the Danish Cancer Institute. The Safe Choice steering committee can be contacted at safechoice@cancer.dk.
The programme is funded by Sygeforsikringen "denmark".
