MISSION AND PRINCIPLES

Our mission is to improve human lives in Denmark and globally by investigating and analysing complex health and social issues. We achieve this through collaboration and interdisciplinary research on health complexity, addressing the underlying dynamics of public-health challenges.

Our work is guided by three core principles:

‘Health is complex’

We apply a complex-systems lens to health.

This enables us to understand, act upon and change the mechanisms and dynamics that generate complex health patterns.

‘Knowledge lies in the space between’

We acknowledge that important insights or understanding often emerge from the connections or interactions between different ideas, disciplines, or perspectives rather than from isolated pieces of information.

‘We experiment to create change’

We are transforming public-health research by experimenting with
innovative collaborative approaches that bring together diverse disciplines
in a shared physical space.
