The Complexity Center cultivates a curiosity-driven, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research environment. As part of our Fellowship programme, we are pleased to host scholars who can both contribute to and benefit from the Center’s ongoing research while engaging with new perspectives, data, and methods. We encourage Fellows to share their own expertise, approaches, and insights to foster a spirit of mutual learning and collaboration.

Alexis Reeves
Alexis Reeves is a social epidemiologist broadly focused on examining the causes and consequences of racial disparities in earlier aging and morbidity over the lifecourse. Her research incorporates the role of reproductive health, including menopause, to the study of health over the lifecourse, and her methods utilise causal, bias, and missing-data analysis to address potential biases in observational studies with a health-equity lens. She holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of California Berkeley, a doctorate from University of Michigan in Epidemiology, and she did her post-doctoral training at the Stanford University Department of Epidemiology and Population Health. She is an assistant professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at University of Toronto and Chair of Health Equity at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, Canada. She joins the Complexity Center from September to December 2026.
Isabell Rumrich
Isabell Rumrich, PhD, is an environmental epidemiologist with experience in prenatal environmental exposures and the use of routinely collected health data. Her work explores the effect of climate-sensitive environmental-exposure mixtures on birth outcomes using a large register-based birth cohort supplemental with data on environmental exposures during pregnancy. At the core of her research agenda is a commitment to understanding how mixture exposures differently affect population groups given the mixture composition and health and lifestyle background of the individuals to inform efficient policy development and protection of susceptible populations. Currently, she is employed as a Research Fellow in the Real World Evidence group at the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio. She joins the Complexity Center from October to December 2026.
